Point your domain at a service

Which DNS records to create for an app, a server, cPanel hosting or email.

A domain only does something once its DNS points at a service. Find your service below.

First, decide where your DNS lives:

  • Kubana DNS: the domain uses ns1/ns2/ns3.kubana.cloud, and you edit records in DNS Management.
  • Elsewhere: you edit records at your registrar or DNS provider. The records are the same.

An App Platform app

Add an A record with the address shown in the app's Domains tab, then attach the domain to the app. Full steps: Use your own domain.

A VPS

Add an A record for @ (and www if you want it) with the server's public IP. In Kubana DNS, click the Value field to pick the server from a list.

cPanel hosting

Set the domain's nameservers to ns1.kubana.cloud, ns2.kubana.cloud and ns3.kubana.cloud. See Buy cPanel hosting.

Professional email

Add the MX, A and TXT records shown on the email domain's page, then verify and activate. See Connect your domain's DNS.

Several services at once

You can mix them, for example a website on App Platform and email on Professional email. Each service uses different records: the A record for the website, MX and TXT for email. Keep DNS in one place, ideally Kubana DNS, so all the records sit together.

Waiting for DNS

New records usually work within minutes, but can take up to 48 hours to reach everyone, especially after a nameserver change.
