Use your own domain

Point your DNS at Kubana, attach the domain and get HTTPS automatically.

Every web app gets a Kubana address with HTTPS. You can also attach up to 5 of your own domains, both apex domains (example.com) and subdomains (app.example.com).

Before you start

  • The app's deploy key is verified.
  • The app serves web traffic. Background services, such as a Laravel queue worker, have no public URL and can't use domains.
  • You can edit the domain's DNS records, at Kubana or at your registrar.

1. Point DNS at Kubana

Create these records for the domain you want to attach:

Type Name Value
A your domain or subdomain 62.238.7.246 Required
AAAA your domain or subdomain 2a01:4f9:c015:ef6::1 Optional
CNAME www your apex domain Optional, for www

Remove any other A or AAAA records on that name. An extra address that isn't Kubana's makes verification fail.

Domain on Kubana?

Edit the records in DNS Management. See Domains & DNS.

2. Attach the domain

  1. Open your app → Domains and add the domain.
  2. Kubana checks DNS immediately. If the check fails, fix the records and try again. DNS changes can take time to spread.
  3. Optionally choose Make this the primary domain. The app's public URL switches to it, and the other addresses keep working.

3. Wait for HTTPS

Kubana issues the TLS certificate for you. A new domain can take a few minutes to work over HTTPS while the certificate is issued.

Remove a domain

Remove it from the Domains tab. This doesn't change your DNS. Delete the records at your DNS provider if you no longer need them. The Kubana address can't be removed.
