Nameservers

What nameservers do, Kubana’s nameservers, and how to change them safely.

Nameservers decide who answers DNS questions for your domain. To manage your records in Kubana's DNS Management, the domain must use Kubana's nameservers:

ns1.kubana.cloud
ns2.kubana.cloud
ns3.kubana.cloud

For a domain registered at Kubana

  1. Open My domains → Manage, then the Nameservers tab.
  2. Edit a nameserver inline, Add nameserver, or delete one. A domain always needs at least one.

For a domain registered elsewhere

Set the three nameservers above in your registrar's dashboard. Then add the domain as a zone in DNS Management and create its records. See Manage DNS records.

Create the records first

Changing nameservers moves all DNS for the domain at once: website, email, everything. Recreate the records you need on the new nameservers before you switch, or your site and email can go offline.

How long it takes

Nameserver changes can take from 15 minutes up to 48 hours to reach everyone. During that time some visitors may still see the old DNS.

From your AI assistant

With the Domains MCP server connected, your assistant can replace a domain's nameservers in one go, after you approve the code Kubana emails you.
