What your assistant can do once connected, with the same permissions as your account.

ReadNothing in your account changes.
  • List and inspect servers
See the servers you own with their status, size, region and public IP.
    • list-servers
    • get-server
  • Read server metrics
Pull CPU, memory and disk usage over up to 7 days to spot a struggling server.
    • get-server-metrics
  • List SSH keys
See the names of the SSH keys saved on your account.
    • list-ssh-keys
  • Compare server options
Browse the available regions, sizes with prices and operating systems before creating a server.
    • list-server-options
  • How it fits together
Explain how VPS connects to your other Kubana products and how it uses credits, based on your account.
Makes changesReview these when your assistant asks to run them. Tagged ones need a code Kubana emails you.
  • Create a server Approval code
Create a server in a project. Same rules as the dashboard: credits for one month and your server limit.
    • create-server
  • Power on or off Approval code
Start a server that’s off, or hard power off a running one.
    • power-on-server
    • power-off-server
  • Reset the root password Approval code
Reset a running server’s root password. The new one is emailed to you.
    • reset-server-root-password
  • Delete a server Approval code
    Permanently delete a server.
    • delete-server

Your assistant only sees and changes servers you own, not ones shared with you. It never sees a root password: Kubana emails the new one to you.

Approval codes

By default, before your assistant runs a tagged action, Kubana checks with you by email. Nothing changes until you hand over the code. You can change which actions ask under MCP Servers in the dashboard.

  1. 1. You ask
For example: “Delete the DEBUG variable on my-api.”
  2. 2. Kubana emails you a code
The “Approve an AI Agent Action” email names the action in plain words, its details and price, which assistant asked and when.
  3. 3. You give the code to your assistant
Your assistant tells you it needs the code. Read it from the email and paste it in the chat.
  4. 4. The action runs
Your assistant repeats the request with the code, and Kubana carries it out.
  • Each code works once, and only for the exact action in the email: the same app, server, domain or mailbox, with the same values.
  • Codes expire after 10 minutes and stop working after 5 wrong tries.
  • Kubana sends at most 5 codes every 10 minutes.
  • Actions you take in the dashboard never ask for a code.

Got a code you didn’t ask for? Ignore the email and revoke that assistant under MCP Servers in your dashboard.

Stays in the dashboard

Your assistant can’t do these. It sends you to the VPS dashboard instead.

  • Managing servers shared with you

Connect your assistant

The first time it connects, your assistant opens Kubana in your browser so you can sign in and approve access.

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and click “Add custom connector”.

  2. Name it Kubana and paste the server URL:

    https://api.kubana.cloud/mcp/vps
  3. Click Connect, sign in to Kubana and approve the access request.
